Additional Info
This summer annual is particularly noticeable because of its large, coarse leaves and rapid growth. It is commonly found in disturbed areas, field edges, roadsides, gardens, and other areas where bare or disturbed soil provides an opportunity for establishment. Hand-pulling or hoeing can be effective for small infestations, particularly when plants are young.
Remove plants before they produce mature burs. Be careful when handling mature plants, as the burs can readily attach to clothing and equipment.
