Habitat: Dry-mesic to dry, often rocky forests, woodlands, and outcrops. Frequent to common in the Virginia mountains and Piedmont; infrequent in the inner Coastal Plain; rare to absent in the outer Coastal Plain

Wildlife Value: Members of the genus Heuchera support specialized bees. Bees, hummingbirds and other pollinating insects enjoy the nectar from the flowers
