Habitat: Bogs, fens, seepage swamps, calcareous spring marshes, floodplain forests, stream banks, freshwater tidal marshes, wet meadows, and ditches. Frequent in the Virginia mountains and Piedmont; infrequent in the northern and central Coastal Plain.
