Additional Info

Habitat: Dry forests, woodlands, barrens, and roadsides, usually in sandy or rocky, nutrient-poor soils. Common throughout Virginia.

Wildlife Value: This plant is a larval host to Pearl Crescent (Phyciodes tharos) caterpillars. Flower nectars are attractive to bees and adult Pearl Crescent butterflies.
